The Ozofume Process utilizes dry, gaseous ozone to fumigate a variety of food commodities and other moisture and temperature sensitive products. This industrial process will treat the commodity in bulk form or in the final consumer package so as not to damage the product through excessive handling. Both insect control as well as microbiological control of human pathogens is achieved without the risk of chemical residues. Unlike chemical fumigants and steam treatments, the process is carried out at cool temperatures so the most sensitive products may be safely treated. We have successfully treated many fresh fruits, vegetables, botanicals, dehydrated herbs, spices, psyllium, sprouting seeds, green coffee beans, cocoa beans, textiles, nutraceuticals, grains & flours, sugar, cosmetic bases, tobacco, and wine casks.
